About Vision Nonprofit
Vision Nonprofit is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides free 13-inch iPad Pro devices and assistive technology to K–12 students who are blind or visually impaired. Founded in 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Vision is 100% volunteer-powered — every dollar donated goes directly to providing technology to students. There are no paid salaries.
Each iPad is provided completely free of charge and pre-configured with accessibility features such as VoiceOver, Zoom, and Display Accommodations, along with setup guidance and ongoing family support.
Mission
“Empowering children and young adults who are blind or visually impaired through life-changing assistive technology, provided completely free of charge.”
Who We Serve
Students in grades K–12 in the United States who have a documented visual impairment or blindness diagnosis from a qualified eye care professional. Vision focuses on families for whom an iPad would be a meaningful access tool but is not currently available to the child.
Founder & Origin Story
Eric Hintz — Founder & Executive Director. Eric founded Vision Nonprofit after witnessing firsthand how assistive technology transformed his son Joey’s education and independence. What began as one family’s experience with the right device, set up the right way, became the model for Vision: get a properly configured iPad Pro into the hands of every K–12 student who needs one, at no cost to the family.
